This marble features a blue planet through a lanse that has been sandcarved with a UFO, stars, planets, rockets, meteors, moons, and more. The back is a wall of swirly purple carved with circles and dots. Around the perimieter of the marble is a band of pinwheels.

These sandcarved pieces are made utilizing an extremely time consuming multi-step process. I first create the piece on the torch and anneal it in a digitally controlled kiln. I then clean the piece with acetone, lay out a series of images on a layout program, cut those images on a vinyl plotter, apply them to the the piece, sandblast the piece, soak them in acetone to remove the decals, clean them, and oil them.
